Funeral services for Evelyn Elaine Kollar, 89, of Bonham, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Mark Posey will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery. Evelyn passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015 at the Woodmoore Assisted Living in Bonham.
Evelyn was born Dec. 10, 1925 in Denison, Texas, the daughter of Ruby Mitchell Bryant. She was a graduate of Denison High School in Denison, Texas where her nickname was "Shorty" and attended business school prior to going to work for Kraft Foods. Evelyn married John Edward Kollar, Sr. on May 3, 1952 in Denison, Texas and he preceded her in death Jan. 27, 2015. She was a very special lady who was a devoted wife, mother and Nana and loved spending time with her family. Evelyn was a member of First United Methodist Church and involved with Camp Fire Girls, Bonham Band Boosters and the Bonham Public Library. She also baked for local businesses during the holiday season. As the wife of a retired Air Force veteran, Evelyn was a very patriotic lady and traveled to a number of places including Virginia, Japan and Hawaii. She was very thoughtful, caring, funny, and a pure joy to be around. She never met a stranger. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her mother, a son, John Edward "Johnny" Kollar, Jr., two brothers, Bill Bryant and Jim Bryant, and a brother-in-law, Mike Kollar.

Grandchildren, Stephanie Early of Pensacola, Florida
Benjamin Early of Tallahassee, Florida
2 Sisters-in-law, Grace Kollar of North Olmsted, Ohio
Mary Ann Kollar of Tulsa, Oklahoma
Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Harley Coker, Benjamin Early, Dale McGehee, Doug Person, Warren Jamieson, and Mike Caldwell.
