Funeral services for Etta Marie Johnson, 96, of Ector, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Gene Owen will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, TX. Etta passed away early Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Park Manor Nursing Home in McKinney.

Etta was born Oct. 26, 1916 in Vernon, Texas, the daughter of Charles W. Adams and Martha Hattie Jane Vaughn Adams. She married Delton Earl Johnson in 1932 in Hugo, Oklahoma, and he preceded her in death Dec. 20, 1981. Etta was a farmer's wife who owned and operated the Brown Derby Café in Bonham. She then owned and managed a grocery store and gas station in Ector and later in Ambrose. She was a Baptist by faith. Etta was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Thomas William "Tommy" Adams and Phillip Adams, and three sisters, Rhuie Bentle, Bessie Arterbury and Dovie Thomison.

Etta is survived by her son, Thomas Earl Johnson and wife, Doris Jean of Plano, TX, two grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Johnson-Patterson and husband, Kyle of Frisco, TX, and Judith Lynn Johnson-Willis and husband, James of Forney, TX, four great grandchildren, Wade Thomas Willis, Ryan James Willis, Emily Claire Patterson and Luke Jacob Patterson.
