Memorial services for Ethel Olivia Stewart, 74, of Bonham, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Morgan Malone will officiate. Ethel passed away Monday night, Jan. 11, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Ethel was born October 30, 1941 in Greenville, Texas, the daughter of Willie E. Wilson and Frances B Baker Wilson. She received her LVN degree from Collin Memorial Hospital. Ethel met Joe Stewart in Jr high school, became high school sweethearts and married on May 15, 1965 in Plano, Texas when he returned from military service. She worked at NTMC for 35 years as an LVN and retired in 1998. They moved to northern Arkansas, but returned to Texas due to health issues. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wheeling, Arkansas and enjoyed gardening and flowers. Ethel loved animals and raised Chihuahuas. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Shelia Kay Stewart and Billy Stewart, nephew, Matthew Price and In-laws, Eugene and Opal Stewart and Jim and Vada Ford
Ethel is survived by her husband of 52 years, Joseph L. Stewart of Bonham, Texas; son, Phillip Wayne Stewart and wife, Paula of Denison, Texas; daughter, Lisa Renee Rodriguez and husband, James of McKinney, Texas; brother, Phillip Eugene Wilson; granddaughter, Kimberly Nicole Rodriguez; sister-in-law, Barbara Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
