Ervin Leon Coonrod passed away on April 18, 2026 at Clyde W. Cosper State Veterans Home in Bonham, TX.  Services are under the care of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX. Ervin was born on March 31, 1934 in Fannin County. A life long resident of Bonham, Ervin loved simple country life with his family at the heart of everything. 

Ervin joined the United States Air Force in 1953, and after faithfully serving our country, he united with Dorothy Blanche in marriage. They married at his mother's house on March 27, 1964. Ervin worked as a welder for Gifford Hill America for 38 years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed the great outdoors hunting and fishing, and gardening. He will always be remembered for giving gifts to his family and always showing up to bless someone he loved.

Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Coonrod, parents, Ervin sand Connie Coonrod, brother, Jessie “Wilburn” Coonrod, sister, Anna Belle Lindsey, and niece, Jackie Virginia Lindsey.

Survived by nephews Jerry Lindsey, Jackie Lindsey and wife Judy, niece Saundra Brown, great- nephews and nieces, Brett Linsdey, Jody Lindsey and wife Stephanie, Clint Lindsey and wife Wendi, Jeanine Simerly and husband Glenn, and many great -great nieces and nephews. A graveside service is Friday, April 24, 20226 at Willow Wild Cemetery at 10am.
