Elva N. Lewis Mahler, age 95, a resident of Bonham, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 in Sherman, Texas. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas, with Living Word Church of God Pastor Joseph Grant officiating.
She was born on March 2, 1916, L.V. Neal, in Albany, OK, the daughter of Richard Owen Neal and Hattie Beulah Gannon Neal. She married Hollis E. Lewis in Yuba, OK January 1, 1938. She moved to Richmond, California in 1946 and lived in Martinez, California until 2004 when she moved to Bonham, Texas.Elva was a member of the First Baptist Church in Martinez, California, and later attended the Living Word Church of God in Bonham. She was preceded in death by her parents and all siblings, husband Hollis Lewis, the father of her children and husband Sigmund Mahler.
She is survived by her daughters, Elva Jo Smith and husband Rollin C. Smith of Bonham, Texas, Lynda Lee McCaleb and husband Bruce H. McCaleb of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren Debbie Lynn Andre and her husband Terence Scott Andre of Colorado Springs, CO. and Jeffery Scott McCaleb and his wife Renee Michelle McCaleb of Fairfield, California; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Andre, Brian Scott Andre and Zachary Caleb Andre all of Colorado Springs, CO., and Justin Scott McCaleb, Daniel James McCaleb, and Victoria Grace McCaleb, all of Fairfield, California; one brother-in-law Tom Lewis and his wife, Betty, of Bonham, Texas.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011.
Graveside services will be held at the Albany Cemetery, Albany, Oklahoma, 10:00 A.M. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011.
