Eloise Meade Johnson

March 17, 1925 — February 25, 2015

A memorial celebration of life will be held for Eloise Marie Meade Johnson at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Brad Dardaganian will officiate. A private committal service was held earlier at Willow Wild Cemetery. Eloise passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 at Medical Center of McKinney.

Eloise was born March 17, 1925 in Bonham, Texas, the daughter of Grover C. "Pete" Phillips and Bonnie Louise Bievins Phillips. She was a graduate of Bonham High School and attended the University of North Texas. She married John Evans Meade who preceded her in death Apr. 25, 1969. Eloise had been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1946 and was active with the Presbyterian Women's group. She was involved with the American Heart Association, Camp Fire Girls and the Football Association. Eloise was a homemaker and an expert bridge player and enjoyed knitting, reading and golf. She was exceedingly proud of her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William B. Phillips.

Eloise is survived by her son, Sam Meade and wife, Kary of Waxahachie, Texas; daughter, Susan Bennett and husband, Lanny of Plano, Texas;
grandchildren, Scott Meade Bennett of Fort Worth, Texas, Sarah Kathryn Bennett of Plano, Texas, Samantha Ann Meade Kosoris and husband, Kevin of Waxahachie, Texas, John Meade of Fort Worth, Texas and Alexandra Meade, currently a student at Baylor University.

The family requests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Fund.
