Ella Gereda Landers

Funeral services for Ella Gereda Landers, 96, of Richland Hills, formerly of Fannin County, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Arledge Ridge Cemetery. Max Newman and Pastor Jerry Power will officiate. Gereda passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 9, 2012 at her residence.

Gereda was born Aug. 18, 1915 in the home of her grandparents, Dave and Mary Stanley in the Savage Community (near Leonard) of Fannin County, Texas. She was the daughter of Samuel Ruben Rhea and Lillie Cynthia Stanley Rhea. Gereda attended Primitive Baptist Church near Arledge Ridge. She married T. B. Landers, July 2, 1938 near Bonham, TX. After retiring and moving to Hurst to live near her daughter, she attended the Friendship Baptist Church in Hurst.

Gereda was preceded in death by her husband, T. B. Landers in 2008, a daughter, Billie Lou Landers in 1958, her parents, one sister and two brothers.

She is survived by
2 daughters, Gloria Dunaway and husband, Raymond of Richland Hills, TX, and Peggy Blackwell and husband, Rodney of Temple, TX,
5 grandchildren, Wendell Dunaway, James Blackwell, Traci Newman, Debra Giese and Jennifer Hanson;
8 great grandchildren, Ian Dunaway, Jason Mayo, Roxanne Blackwell, Greg Wadkins, Colton Mayo, Rebecca Hanson, Collin Mayo and Rheagan Blackwell;
1 great great granddaughter, Valon Rhea Mayo
Several nieces and nephews and 6 step great grandchildren.

Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to a local hospice of a charity of your choice.
