Elaine Woodard Ashlock

Elaine Woodard Ashlock, "Lainie" was born on September 27, 1946 in Bonham, TX to J.D. and Dovie Woodard. Elaine passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at her daughter's home. She was a member of the Living Word Church of God, in Bonham, TX, where she faithfully worshipped her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She also attended Grayson Bible Baptist Church where her grandson, Colin, teaches. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and worked at the County Clerk's office for 20 years. Elaine was married to the love of her life, Ray Boyd Ashlock, for 53 years. They were born in the same hospital, one day apart, and then began their love story when they were in the 6th grade. Their first date was to the picture show to see "My Dog Buddy". Lainie was one of the most joyous people and could light up any room with her beautiful smile. She loved everyone she met and always saw the very best in people.

Elaine is survived by her daughter Kristi Ashlock of Bonham, TX; son Todd Ashlock and wife Amanda of Sherman, TX; bonus son Pablo Granados of Bonham, TX; brother David Woodard and wife Trudy of Alpharetta, GA; her baby sister, Patricia Cox of Sherman, TX; her 3 grandsons Spencer Roberts of Gober, TX; Colin Ashlock and wife Kara of Sherman, TX; Isaiah Taylor of Bonham, TX; great granddaughter Hadleigh Jane Ashlock of Sherman, TX; nieces and nephews Amanda Fulkerson and husband Christian of Sherman, TX; Cassidi Summers and husband John of McKinney, TX, James Woodard and wife Pam of Arlington, TX; Vicki Millhollon and husband Mike of Ector, TX, Chance Woodard and wife Lauren of Paris, TX, Josh Woodard and wife Karen of GA, and Amber Moore and husband Ryan of Georgia; several great nieces and nephews; her namesake Taylor Elaine Cox of Sherman, TX; Austin Cox of Sherman, TX. She is also leaving behind many other family members and close friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Ray B. Ashlock; parents J.D. and Dovie Woodard; brother Richard Woodard; and brother-in-law Press Cox.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Roberts, Colin Ashlock, Isaiah Taylor, Austin Cox, Pablo Granados, and Christian Armas. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Vaught, Dava Brent, Stanley Richardson, Johnny Baker, Ronnie Rhudy, and Stan Barker.

The family will receive friends at Living Word Church of God on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Elaine's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00pm at Living Word Church of God in Bonham, TX with burial to follow at Willow Wild Cemetery, Bonham, Texas.
