Edna Mae Eskue

Funeral services for Edna Mae Eskue, age 90, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday May 24, 2014 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Seigler will officiate. Burial will follow in Duplex Cemetery. Mae passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Mae was born January 26, 1924 in the Elwood Community of Fannin County, Texas, the daughter of John Bertram Tanner and Iva D Bonham Tanner. She attended Fannin County schools in Duplex and High Prairie. Mae married Charlie Royce Eskue on July 13, 1940 in Achille, Oklahoma, and he preceded her in death Mar. 8, 2002. She was a folder and packer for Super Sack in Savoy, Texas, for 12 years, retiring Feb. 3, 1992. Mae loved to quilt and had pieced and quilted over 500 quilts, winning a number of blue ribbons. She enjoyed scrapbooking and was an avid card and domino player. She was a member of Duplex Baptist Church and later Telephone Baptist Church. Mae was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James Wesley Tanner and John B. Tanner, three sisters, Juanita Tanner, Alta Dee Tanner and Neomie Nelson, a grandson, Gary Williams and two sons-in-law, Glenn Williams and Rick Mitchell. Mae had a good sense of humor and was loved by all. She will be greatly missed.

Mae is survived by her children, Dean and Bub Mitchell of Bonham, Brenda and Walt McQuire of Nebraska, Linda Eskue and Shelia Watkins Copeland of Arizona, John and Mary Eskue of Bells, Tommy and Sally Eskue of Bonham, Earlene Jones and Fred Crone of Denison, Steve Eskue and Luis Jimenz of Dallas, Nita and Wayne Lea of Washington, Don and Yvonne Eskue of Denison, David and Kay Eskue of Bonham, and Karen Eskue and Bob Rhodes of Sherman; sisters, Nell Gibbs of Telephone, Patsy Tanner of Honey Grove and Alma Cagle of Arlington; 23 grandkids, 36 great grandkids and 11 great great grandkids; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews; extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Williams, Kenny Williams, Jim Jack Patman, Warren Patman, Mike Patman, Kevin Eskue, Brad Eskue, Jason Nobles, Nathan Dotseth, Alex Lea, Tony Eskue, J. T. Eskue and Brandon Chesser.
