Edna Christine Collins

Graveside services for Mrs. Edna Christine Collins, age 80, of Bonham, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Willow Wild Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church 818 N. Main St. Bonham, Texas. Rev. Brad Dardaganian will officiate. Mrs. Collins passed away on February, 28, 2014 in Bonham.
Mrs. Collins was born on May 7, 1933 in Cataula, Georgia, the daughter of Lonnie Edwin Atnip and Virginia Eloise Reid Atnip. She was a 1950 graduate of Bonham High School and married William Ruffin "Bill" Collins Jr. on April 16, 1955 in Bonham, Texas and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Lonnie, Raymond and Charles Atnip and sister Lyda Nichols. She retired from the Lone Star Gas Company with 38 years of service. She enjoyed many activities in the community including volunteering for the Fort Inglish Museum, Red River Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary "Pink Ladies", Meals on Wheels and was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed sending birthday cards to church members, singing in the choir and enjoyed the hand bells. The entire Collins family was honored to have the hospitality room named after them and so many cherished memories have been developed through the years in the church.
She is survived by:

John Hampton Collins of San Diego, CA
Sister: Betty Ann McSpedden of Carrollton, TX
Sister-in-law: Sue Collins of Ravenna
Grandson: Petty Officer First Class Christopher Collins (U.S. Navy)
Step Granddaughters: Britany Bleistein and Stephanie Rennells
Step Great Granddaughter: Cora Bleistein
Numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of friends
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of American http://www.alzfdn.org or the First Presbyterian Church, 818 N. Main, Bonham, TX 75418
Pallbearers will be Craig Nichols, Ricky Nichols, Larry Collins, Joe Collins, Ray Atnip and David Collins.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6:30-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 5, 2014.
