Dustan Curtis Russell Sewell, 18, of Bonham, TX was born October 11, 2003 in Sulphur Springs, TX. He entered into his Heavenly Home on July 14, 2022.
Dustan moved to Bonham when he was just 2 years old, making a long list of friends throughout the years from his time at Kids Kastle with Ms. Rosie and Mr. David, to becoming a 2022 Graduate of Bonham High School.
Dustan was a stellar athlete in football, basketball, track and field. #25 was his chosen jersey number, and he wore it proudly. Dustan was a Bonham Basketball Academic All District player, and Bonham Football State Farm Player of the Week. Dustan was awarded the Bonham Boys Track and Field "Field Event Award" as one of the top long jumpers in the region, District runner-up and 3 rd at Area. Dustan advanced to the regional meet and was also a sprinter competing in the 100m and 200m.
Dustan, with his unforgettable megawatt smile and infectious laugh, could light the darkest of rooms. He was loved by everyone who met him, with the exception of a few opposing team players and an occasional substitute teacher or two.
Dustan was loyal, fierce, organized, and tenacious with a loving spirit. It was that spirit that made him every kid's favorite cousin and uncle. Dustan enjoyed Anime (Naruto and Dragon Ball Super), Fortnite, Call of Duty, and recently completed a PC build with his brother so he could learn animation. Dustan loved styling his locs, throwing the football, shooting hoops, driving the Can-Am, and any meal that included chicken or shrimp.
Dustan was a hard worker and worked alongside his grandpa and uncles from a young age. From horseman to ranch hand, Dustan wore many hats and he wore them well.
He recently achieved Admission to both Texas A&M University-Commerce and Grayson College.
Dustan's ultimate desire was to be independently successful with his own house and a thriving career, doing something he was passionate about. He was considering careers in football, barbering, animation and more.
It was an extraordinary privilege to have Dustan in our lives for 18 years, and we will always love him unconditionally. If he could see the outpouring of love for him, there is no doubt that Dustan would be "grinning like a possum" right now.
