Mr. Doyle Irvin Gilbreath, age 76, of Windom, passed away on June 18, 2021, at the Baylor, Scott, and White Heart Hospital of Plano, Texas. Mr. Gilbreath will lie in state at Wise Funeral Home from 8:00 am until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. There will be a visitation from 5:00 PM until service time on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in the Wise Funeral Home Chapel with Funeral Services beginning at 6:00 PM on Wednesday. A private family inurnment will follow on a later date in the Windom Cemetery.
Mr. Gilbreath was born on September 8, 1944, in Bonham, Texas, the son of Atwell Earl Gilbreath and Mary Alta Denney Gilbreath. He was a 1963 graduate of Windom High School and he married Paula Odom on January 27, 1984, in Durant, Oklahoma. He was employed at Southwest Pump Company, Lonestar Gas, and TXU Oncor in Bonham for many years. Mr. Gilbreath was an avid knife maker and loved to fish and metal detect. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Don Gilbreath in 1984 and his sister, Earlene Wix in 2002 and his nephew Steve Gilbreath in 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Gilbreath of Windom, daughters, Regina Zornes of South Point, Ohio and LeeAnn Johnson and her husband Justin (Mr. Gilbreath considered him more of a son than a son-in-law) of Forney, Texas and stepson, Scott Davis of Windom; grandchildren, Ali Zornes and her husband Abraham Ezeagabu, Abbi Zornes, Brady Johnson, Ashley Davis and Cody Davis.
