Graveside services for Doy Alvis Hughes, 91, of Boyd, Texas, formerly of Bonham, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 8, 2013 in Emerald Hills, Fort Worth, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, Texas. Rev. Charles Pugh will officiate. Doy passed away Thursday morning, July 4, 2013 at Wise Regional Health System in Decatur, Texas,
Doy was born May 11, 1922 in Fannin County, Texas, the son of William Thomas Hughes and Gracie Genetta Roberts Hughes. He attended schools in Prairie Point, Dodd City and Bonham. Doy was a cabinet setter for a mobile home manufacturing company. He enjoyed building craft items and mowing. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sylvia, 9 brothers and 5 sisters.
Doy is survived by 4 Sons, Donald Hughes and wife, Mary of Springtown, TX, Jerry David Hughes and wife, Jo of Rhome, TX,
Wayne Hughes and wife, Madelyn of Boyd, TX, and Ricky Dale Hughes of Denton, TX, 3 Daughters, Shirley Shields and husband, Jerry of Paradise, TX, Linda Simpson and husband, Bob of Haslett, TX, and Sharon David of Haltom City, TX, a Sister, Mary Underwood of Bonham, TX, Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
