Funeral services for Douglas Nolan "Doug" Walker, 85, of Ravenna, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Bob Upchurch and Bro. Michael Moody will officiate. Burial will follow in Sandy Cemetery. Doug passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham
Doug was born June 24, 1929 in the Sandy Community of Fannin County, Texas, the son of Coy Dexter Walker and Mamie Lee Freeman Walker. He attended schools in Sandy and Bonham and was a graduate of Bonham High School. Doug was a US Navy veteran and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. He enjoyed fishing and collecting arrow heads. He was a member of Sandy Baptist Church. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Billy Walker, Levis Walker and Wayman Walker, and a sister, Frances Crowe.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Granberry, Richard Riley, Wayne Hanes, Cary Gist, and Rusty Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Blanton Hanes, Gene Sewell and Bobby Lappin.
Memorials may be made to Sandy Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday night.
