Graveside services for Dorothy Lavonne Crawley May, 81, of Whitesboro, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Willow Wild Cemetery, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Bro. Mark Posey will officiate. Dorothy passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Medical City of Dallas, in Dallas, Texas.
Dorothy was born January 12, 1934 in Tigertown, Texas, the daughter of Charlie F. Crawley and Lorene Long Crawley. She graduated from West Lamar High School and continued her education at Paris Junior College and Grayson County College, where she attended Nursing School. Dorothy married Billy Jean May on December 22, 1956. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and Nascar. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother, Charles Stanley Crawley.
Dorothy is survived by, her sons, Joseph Lynn May of Ivanhoe, Texas, and Mark Douglas May of Sherman, Texas; daughter, Lisa Jean Blassingame and husband Bob of Paris, Texas; brother, William Charles Crawley and wife Chris of Bonham, Texas; sister, Shirley Kavanaugh of Mulberry, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica Gardner and fiancée, Nick Cumings, Alan May and wife Tracy and Brock Blassingame and wife, Tiffany; great grandchildren, Wyatt Gardner, Jordin Gardner, Anna Grace Blassingame, and Baron Blassingame; and a host of extended family and friends.
