Dorothy Marie (Grannie) Pruitt

Memorial Services for Dorothy Marie Galbreath-Pruitt, age 81 of Bonham, Texas, will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Living Word Church of God in Bonham. Officiating will be Stephen Castle. Dorothy was born April 22, 1936 in Refugio County, Texas to William Coy Galbreath and Evelena Owens. She passed away on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, 2017.

Grannie enjoyed reminiscing about her years as a waitress, which is how she met her husband. During their life together, they loved to go fishing. She loved crafts, quilting, canning and collecting turquoise.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her Husband of 40 years, William Dayton Pruitt, Parents, William Coy Galbreath & Evelena Owens Galbreath and son, George Allen Heath; grandson, Elvin Heath II.; 5 brothers, Junior, Edward, Robert, James Alfred and Johnny Weldon; 2 sisters, Mary Wallace and Nadine Youngblood.

Surviving are daughters, Violet Heath of Bonham, TX, Judy Lewis and husband Claude of Ravenna, Peggy Christine McCraw and husband Ronnie of Carrollton, TX; sons, Elvin Heath and wife Peggy of Ravenna and James Eldon Pruitt of Ravenna; grandchildren, Jeremy, LeAnn, Jonathan, Claude, Nicole, Jeffrey, Grant, Rachel, Carrie, Jason and Kimberly; 14 Great grandchildren; her best friend for 40 years, Sharon Russell; 2 sisters-in-law, Jackie and Alice Mae, and several nieces and nephews.
