Dorothy Jean Clark Barber passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on March 2, 2024. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.

Dorothy was born on October 9, 1929 to Fred and Rachel Clark in Bonham, TX. She married Noble Woodson Barber and together they had two sons, Billy and Gary Barber. Of all the things Dorothy accomplished in her life her highest calling was being a mother and grandmother. Family was at the center of her life and countless fond memories were made at Mamaw's house. Dorothy loved gardening and spending time out at the ranch feeding the cows. Time spent with her sisters shopping and enjoying a hamburger at Whataburger will always be a cherished memory for the family. Her favorite time of year was Spring. You could always find Dorothy planting flowers and enjoying the warm sun on her face. Dorothy was determined and worked hard providing a good life for her sons. She dedicated many years working for Tarrant County and Kellogg/General Mills. Dorothy was a member at Calvary Baptist Church and walked closely with the Lord. She loved her church family very much. Dorothy is preceded in death by husband, Noble Barber, parents, Fred and Rachel Clark, brothers, R.L Clark, Carrol Clark. Those left to cherish her memory, sons, Billy Barber and wife Kim, Gary Barber and wife Marsha, brothers, Harold Clark, Freddie Clark, sisters, Lois Kennedy, Betty Lackey, Virginia Peebles, Brenda Holloway, grandchildren, Sonny Barber and Abbie,  Amanda Nash and husband Daniel, Katlin Detwiler and husband Joe, Dylan Barber, Kevin Barber and Haley, and Kelsey Terk and husband Tommy, along with 11 great-grandchildren, and extended family.

Visitation is Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm @ Wise Funeral Home. The funeral service will be the following day at the same location starting at 10:00am. Burial will take place after the service at Dodd City Cemetery, Dodd City, TX.
