Funeral services for Dora Dean Russell, 88, of Bonham, will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, November 9, 2014 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Derrell Hall will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery, Bonham, Texas. Dora passed away early Wednesday, morning, November 5, 2014 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman, Texas.
Dora was born March 17 1926 in Albany, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jimmy Anderson and Mamie Ester Purkey Anderson. She attended Bonham schools and married Wyndell Edwin Russell on October 21, 1946 in Bonham, Texas. He preceded her in death August 30, 2002. Dora was a member of First Baptist Church in Bonham and she loved animals. She did private duty home care. Dora was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Ray Russell on June 26, 2014; her parents; two brothers, Charles Anderson and Edward Beale; and a sister, Billie Jean McEuen.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Allen Russell of Austin, Texas andJames E. Russell of Bonham, Texas; three daughters, Cynthia Jane Nolen and husband, Donald of Bonham; Rhonda Sue Bowman and husband, Wallace of Sanger, Texas and Judy Diane Pruett and husband, Allen of Sanger, Texas; a sister, Mamie Marie "Kitty" Bishop of Gordonville, Texas; six grandchildren, Delicia Hughes, Nathan Morgan, Tarra Russell, LeAnne Ramirez, Kitty Diane Russell and Chance Pruett; eleven great grandchildren, Taylor and Nolen, Stephanie and Rickey, Layla, Ivan, Brianna, Alesia, Jordan, Christopher and Natalie; a
special friend, Ann Branough; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers Donald Nolen, Wallace Bowman, Allen Pruett, Steven Hughes, Nolen Hughes and Nathan Morgan.
