Donna Lou Miller

Funeral services for Donna Lou Altom Miller, 81, of the Cotton Center Community of Fannin County, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2023 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kevin Towery will officiate. Burial will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday night at Wise Funeral Home. Donna passed away Monday morning, April 24, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Donna was born February 7, 1942 in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Aubrey Bernice "Red" Altom and Juanita Mozelle Todd Altom on their 1 ^st Anniversary. She moved many times in her younger years because her father worked for Gulf (Warren). She attended schools in Elmore City, Madill, Holiday, Wichita Falls, Baytown and finally Bridgeport where she graduated from high school. She later attended East Texas State University, where she pledged Chi Omega. Donna married the love of her life, Joe David Miller, on July 5, 1963 in Durant, Oklahoma. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Sadie's Willing Workers Class. She was a talented craft painter and enjoyed painting wood, coke bottles and especially Santa Clauses. She later became a gifted quilter and loved making quilts. After retirement from Bonham Head Start as Parental Involvement Coordinator she served as secretary of the Moores Chapel Cemetery and the Bartley Woods Water Corp. for a number of years.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Linda Miller, aunts and uncles, and cousins, and in-laws, Mayme Jo Miller, David and Bennie Miller.

Donna leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 60 years, Joe David Miller, sons, Scott Miller (Christine) and Gregg Miller (Mary), two brothers, Joe Altom (Merelee) and Bob Altom (Karen), sister-in-law, Linda Hearne (Martin), grandchildren, Jake Miller, Amy Jo Kelley, Brandon Miller, Kyler Miller, Kaysen Miller, great grandchildren, Grant Miller and Brett Kelley, nephews, Jeffrey Hearne, Cliff Altom, and Rance and Cody Miller, nieces, Jennifer King, Lana Kelsey, Kelli Sykalski and Carlie Wells, special quilting friend and cousin by marriage, Marji Killion, extended family and friends.

Memorials may be made to Moores Chapel Cemetery, c/o Christine Miller, 5872 S. FM 271, Bonham, TX 75418.
