Donald Glen Peebles

Private Graveside Services for Donald Glen Peebles, age 79, of Dodd City, Texas were held at Dodd City Cemetery in Dodd City, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Peebles officiated the service. Don passed away early Tuesday morning, March 17, 2020 at the Honey Grove Nursing Center in Honey Grove, Texas.

Don was born on October 30, 1940 in Dodd City, Texas, the son of Willard William Peebles and Donnis Nadine Dodd Peebles. He was of the Baptist faith, having been baptized at the young age of 15. Don was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dodd City. He enjoyed hunting, working on antique cars, and watching westerns. Don was passionate about his work. He was a truck driver for 12 years and a roofer for 43 years. He believed if you found a job you loved, you'd never work a day in your life. Don married Elaine Sudderth Davis on May 28, 2004 in Leonard, Texas. They were married 15 years before his passing. Don was a loving father and husband; he will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ernest William Peebles and sister, Wanda Nadine Peebles.

Don is survived by his wife, Elaine Peebles of Dodd City, Texas; son, David Glen Peebles of California; daughter, Bobbie Lynn Peebles of California; stepsons, Oren Lee Davis of Leonard, Texas and John Dee Davis of Leonard, Texas; stepdaughter, Dana Davis Fuller and husband Kyle of Leonard, Texas; grandchildren, Jerry "Jag" Griffis, Megan Newman, Mimi Newman, Jamie Ledbetter, and Matt Ledbetter; great grandchildren, Bradley, Brandon, and Braxton; Uncle Woody Peebles and Aunt Charlene Turner; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Richard Clark, Stavis Crossland, Wayne Crossland, Jimmie Peebles, Larry Peebles, and Nathan Peebles.

Mr. Peebles will lie in state at Wise Funeral Home on Thursday, March 19, 2020 and on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
