Donald Moody Logan

Donald Moody Logan, Ph.D., age 78, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 in Bonham, Texas. He was born to Vernon Moody Logan and Annell Bolling Logan on March 17, 1934 in Big Spring, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan York. He is survived by his sister Dee Ann Gorham, nephew Scott York of Colorado Springs, CO, niece Laurie York of Dripping Springs and great nephew Logan Buican and many beloved cousins and many dear friends.

Dr. Logan received his Bachelors in Geology, Masters in Spanish, and Doctorate in Psychology from Texas Tech. He lived in Spain for two years following his service as a U.S. Army medic, and worked at Bellevue hospital in New York City. He taught Spanish at Texas A&I. He was president of Yates Petroleum in Houston until the 80's and then became a psychologist for TDC and for nursing homes in the Austin and Midland areas. Dr. Logan was married to Maria Rocha, who remained a dear friend after their divorce.

Don loved people; he had a generous heart, and loved family. He delighted in the New Mexico cabin with family. When he worked with TDC in Amarillo, he helped establish the Panhandle Birding Society and was editor of the newspaper for the group. After his parents passing, Don lived in the family home in Lamesa where he enjoyed dear friends. Don loved birds, flowers, and all kinds of music. He loved the Spade reunions where cousins played great country music. Since there will be no formal service, when you see a beautiful bird, see a beautiful flower, hear a beautiful song, remember Don Logan.
