Funeral Services for Dixie I. Bond, age 89 of Bonham, TX will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham. Officiating will be Pastor Morris Cook. Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. Dixie passed away on September 22, 2017.

She was born November 11, 1927 in Powell, Oklahoma to Lillard Sanders and Ruby Owens Sanders. She married Charles W. (C.W) Bond on October 01, 1949 in Bonham, Texas. Dixie attended school in Powell, OK. She was a longtime member of Ector Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was Girls Auxiliary Leader many years, and taught in Vacation Bible School every year. She loved gardening and taking care of her yard. Her greatest joy, however was spending time with her family.

Dixie was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles W. (C.W) Bond, Parents, Lillard Sanders & Ruby Owens Sanders and brothers, Donald Sanders and Morris Overton Sanders; and sister, Gloria Roberts.

Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Spivey and husband Terry of Texarkana, TX, Teresia "Terri" Gibson and husband Rodney of the Lannius Community, and Shelia Bewley of Bonham; grandchildren, Bart Spivey and wife Amber, Blair Spivey Smith and husband Stephen, Jeff Blain and wife Chris, Bree Gibson Vopelak and husband Rob, Colt Bewley and wife Sharena, Jordon Bewley Triplett and husband Ray; great-grandchildren, Bret Spivey, Easton Spivey, Beckett Spivey, Hadley Smith, John Stogner, Robert Vopelak, Addison Vopelak, Zane Bewley, Reece Triplett, Rylee Triplett and Raymond Triplett; brothers, Verlin Sanders and Gene Sanders, both of Lebanon, OK.; sisters, Patricia Rogers of Plano, Wanda Tharp of Fort Worth and Barbara Stubbs of Frisco; several nieces and nephews, including special niece Sharee Owens and great-niece, Jillian Munger; and a multitude of friends. Also surviving is special caregiver, Diane Bridges of Dodd City, who was considered part of the family. You are the angel from God sent to love and take care of our mother. Mother loved you with all her heart, as we do; and she is survived by a multitude of friends.

In addition to Diane, the family would like to extend a special thanks to other wonderful caregivers, Sharron Head, Jessie Siler, Honey Grove Nursing Center staff, Woodmoore Assisted Living staff, TMC Bonham Hospital and Dr. Jagdish Shah, and Heart to Heart Hospice – especially Taylor Tredway and Karen Post.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Wise Funeral Home.
