Diane Kay Jones

On Thursday, October 19th, 2023 DiAne Kay Dunn Jones, age 72, passed away in Fannin County.

DiAne was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born April 9th, 1951 to James Harold Dunn and Lottie Johnston Dunn in Dallas, TX. Diane was married to Lawrence Edward Jones Jr. for 52 years. They were married on October 3rd, 1970, in Rockwall County.

She is survived by their three children and their spouses, Jennifer DiAne Jones Vance and her husband Shane, James Lawrence Jones and his wife Rachel, and Jeffrey Preston Jones and his wife Jackie. DiAne was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Michael Vance and his wife Ashley, Nathan Vance, Melissa Vance, Clayton Jones, Madison Jones, Allyson Jones, E'Lita Williams, Graysin Dodd, and Jaxon McCarty. She is also survived by her brother David Dunn and sister Debbie Blohm, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

DiAne is preceded in death by her brother, Doug Dunn.

Diane graduated from South Garland High School in 1969, Her career was spent in the oil and gas field, specifically in marketing. After retirement, "Nanny" focused her life on her family, spoiling her grandchildren, and traveling with her husband. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and had a gift for decorating. The phrase "shop until you drop" was her motto. She and her husband, Larry, often "hit the road" hunting for antiques or auctions. DiAne loved to cook and host gatherings for her family. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
