A Celebration of Life for Dennis Lee Holman, 72, of Lamasco, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at First United Methodist Church of Bonham, TX, officiated by Dana Coker, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. preceding the service in the church sanctuary. Denny was born January 27, 1950 in Paris, TX to Pete and Aylene Holman. He passed away at home surrounded by family, Thursday, June 16, 2022.
Denny married his lifelong sweetheart, Jan Atkins, on July 17, 1971. They celebrated 50 years of marriage last July. He spent 46 years working for Texas Pacific, Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific railroads, retiring in 2013, and still has many friends and many stories from his railroading days.
He is survived by his wife Jan of Lamasco, TX; son Rob Holman and wife Sarahbeth of McKinney, TX; son Heath Holman of Dallas, TX; and daughter Heather Godbey and husband Bret of Millsap, TX. Grandchildren Emma and Elliott Holman and Kimzey, Kyler and Keagan Godbey. Brother Mike Holman and wife Sue of Dallas, TX; sister Lou Ann Warren and husband Patrick of Frisco, TX; and sister Lori Holman and wife Susan Carter of Fort Worth, TX. And many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Phil Holman of El Paso, TX and Dwayne Holman of Austin, TX.
The family would like to thank Hospice Plus nurse Jessica Shannon and caregivers Lisa Spindle, Joy Sewell, Hope Younger and Barbara McConnell for their amazing care during the last couple of months.
