David "Crockett" Weldon Ballard

Graveside services for David Weldon "Crockett" Ballard, 72, of Calera, Oklahoma, formerly of Fannin County, Texas will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Dodd City Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home.  Rev. Mike Allred will officiate.  David passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2022 in Calera.

David was born May 20, 1950 in Tulia, Texas, the son of Orvil Pruitt Ballard and Lola Belle Watterson Ballard.  He was a 1968 graduate of Dodd City High School.  He was retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.  David enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William Watterson and his wife, Donna Stires Ballard (Jan. 15, 2020).

David leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Shane Ballard and Jason Ballard and wife, Angela, all of Bonham, TX; brother, Harold Glen "Bo" Ballard and wife, Gloria, of Dodd City, TX; sisters, Kathy Thompson of Calera, OK and Ann Hullum and husband, Phillip, of Caddo, OK; grandchildren, Haley Fox and husband, Taylor, Jordan Ballard, Stormy Ballard and Korbin Ballard; great grandchildren, Blakelyn Fox and Alivia Mae Ballard; extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Greg Ballard, Galen Ballard, Terry Smith, Johnny Thompson, and Colton Ballard.
