Military Inurnment Services for David Gerald Purifoy, age 73, of Flower Mound, TX will be held at 10:15 am on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. David went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2016.
David was born December 17, 1942 in Hillsboro, TX. His parents, Otis Kelton Purifoy and Thelma Nadine Payne Purifoy provided a beautiful and memorable childhood for him in East Texas. David served as a Registered Nurse in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He received his Masters in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University. David served as Hospital Administrator at Lewisville Hospital for 12 years, before becoming the owner of Ammco Transportation Systems for 18 years.
David loved to go hunting and spend weekends at the hunting lease. He was a gourmet cook and would host large meals for family and friends. David loved working in his yard and taking his family sailing. But above all, David loved and adored his family and cherished time spent together.
David is survived by his wife, Suzanne Purifoy; son, David Purifoy and wife, Jennifer of Argyle, TX; daughter, Lizzie Amick and husband Wes of Lewisville, TX; Paw Paw to grandchildren, Marshall Amick (8), Kelton Purifoy (7), Cort Purifoy (5), and Hank Amick (4).
