Memorial services honoring the life of Dan Richard Buckner, age 66, of Ivanhoe, Texas formerly of Cleveland, Texas, will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, June 19, 2014 in the Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Bobby Myers and John Salem will officiate the service. Dan passed away on June 15, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison after a brief illness.

Dan was born on August 24, 1947 in Cleveland, Texas, the son of Doyle Richard Buckner and Katie Gertrude LaBuff Buckner. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School and attended Sam Houston State University achieving his Bachelors degree and was a Vice President for NCI Building Systems until his retirement in 2004. Dan married Kathy Linman on March 16, 2002 in Weston, Texas and was a member of the Wild Horse Creek Church in Lamasco, Texas. He loved horses and his Cowboy way honoring his home and ranch with meticulous care. He cared for his family deeply and his children and grandchildren were his main interest.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Buckner of Ivanhoe, Texas;
children, Kimberly and husband Mark Thorsen of New Caney, Texas, Brent and wife Angela Buckner of The Woodlands, Texas, Kelly and husband Kyle Powell of Kingwood, Texas, Dan and wife Julie Burkett of Frisco, Texas, Andrew Lara of Denton, Texas, J.C. Burkett of San Antonio, Texas, and Clarke Burkett of College Station, Texas;
brother, J.W. (Dub) Buckner of The Woodlands, Texas; and
grandchildren, Cassie, Paige, Hunter, Daley, Isabella, Andrew and Erin.

The family will receive friends at the Buckner family home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 18, 2014.
