Funeral services for Ivan Dale Allen, 82, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Normous Free will officiate. Dale passed away Monday night, Oct. 3, 2011 at his residence following a long courageous battle with cancer.
Dale was born Dec. 31, 1928 in VanZandt County, Texas, the son of Harvey Allen and Frances Stump Allen. He was a US army veteran of WWII. Dale married Mary Helen Todd on March 1, 1978 in Garland, Texas. He was employed with Ford Motor Company for 42 years and was President of the UAW Union for 26 years. Dale was a member of Congregational Methodist Church. He loved gardening, flowers, horses and birds. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Ismael Allen, Guy Allen, and Dale Allen, and 1 sister, Lois Moore.

Gary Glyn Ingram of Whitewright, TX, and Dakota Jackson of Bonham, TX, Daughter, Vicki Lynn Preslar of Savoy, TX,Sister, Lou Chitty of Wylie, TX, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, including Pat Zamagni (Ron) and Kay Lappen (Bruce) of Bonham.
