Connie Colleen Petrich

Funeral Services for Connie Colleen Petrich, age 76, of Bonham, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Bonham under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Arledge Ridge Cemetery. Connie passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 lovingly surrounded by her family.

Connie was born April 6, 1947, the daughter Obert Freeman Chalstrom and Jeanette Marjorie Madson Chalstrom. Connie lived an extraordinary and fascinating life. When she graduated from college, she decided to backpack across Europe for six months at a time when cell phones weren't a thing. She was the first woman hired in an all-male work environment with Tranter. She worked there for 5 years. She worked in Vermont, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Texas. She joined the Naval Reserves, where she met her soulmate and husband Roy. She worked as a social worker for two years and for the IRS, where she retired from. Connie loved to travel, spend time at the lake, time with her loved ones, and cross-stitching. She was an incredibly strong, clever, and independent woman. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Connie is preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents: Charles and Pearl Madson, Paternal Grandparents: Otto and Elizabeth Chalstrom, Parents: Obert Freeman Chalstrom and Jeanette Marjorie Madson Chalstrom, Daughter: Tammy Kasparek.

Connie is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Roy Petrich; Son-in-Law Lester Kasparek; Son Boyd Petrich and wife Pam from Cypress, TX; Daughter Susan Warnick and husband Scott from Dallas, TX. Grandsons: Chase Petrich and Will Petrich from Cypress, TX; Granddaughter Leslie Markiewicz and husband Nathan from Bailey, TX. Great grandsons Braxton and Rylan Markiewicz. Sister Christine Chalstrom and husband Steven Servatka from Brooklyn Park, MN; and Sister Debra Chalstrom Aws from Shoreview, MN. She had numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Honorary mention of two amazing and generous women who were treated just like family for many years: Jacquelyn Davis and Katie Minyard. They took care of Connie until the very end and never left her side.

Pallbearers will be Scott Warnick, Lester Kasparek, Will Petrich, Chase Petrich, Boyd Petrich, Barry Tidrow and Nathan Markiewiecz.
