Clara Nell Valentine

Funeral Services for Clara Nell Valentine of Wylie, TX will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at First United Methodist Church 801 Star St.  in Bonham, TX 75418 under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Officiating will be her son-in-law Mike Archibald and Rev. Dana Coker.  Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, TX. Clara passed away on February 11, 2019. She was born November 25, 1931 in Honey Grove, Texas to Doil Johnson & Gladys Mae Casper Johnson.

Clara was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas.  She taught school in Princeton, Dodd City, McKinney, Plano and Richland Junior College.  She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Loner on Wheels RVing Club, Gardening, Dancing, Teaching, Painting and competition ball room dancing.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Doil Johnson & Gladys Mae Casper Johnson; Sister, Edna Ruth Pickard, Tunie Pickard, Nephew Marlin Pickard and niece, Shelby Johnson.

Surviving are her three daughters, Helen La Nell Thomas, Janice and Doyce Taylor, Tracey and Mike Archibald; eight grandchildren,  Johnny and Carrie Horton, Brenton and Cynthia Horton, Brandon Horton, Terri and Rick Martin, Christy and Lance Davis, Steven Taylor and Rick Bozorth, Macey and Patrick Davis, Haley and Chris Black; nine great-grandchildren,  Holden Horton, Jade Horton, Ben Martin, Reese Davis, Brody Martin, Colby Davis, Justin Horton, Hunter Horton, Fletcher Horton;  brother, Loyd Johnson and wife Jane; nieces and nephews,  Sreattia Pickard, Ricky Pickard, Tessie Nolan, Chris Johnson, Larry Cotten, Johnny Cotten, Emma Cotten and Hellen Pickard; her loving dog Foxy; and extended family and a host of friends

Pallbearers will be Johnny Horton, Brenton Horton, Brandon Horton, Steven Taylor, Chris Johnson, and Ricky Pickard.

The family will receive friends at 6-8 PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Wise Funeral Home 219 W. Sam Rayburn Dr. Bonham, Texas 75418
