Chester Lee Pickens

Chester Lee Pickens age 86 of Leonard, TX passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at his home.

Chester was born on May 24, 1937 in Bonham, TX. His sister Nadine fondly recalled Chester teaching her how to count and her ABC'S as a young child. Chester was a wonderful brother and friend to all that knew him. One of his favorite hobbies included walking. He would take off walking to California or Las Vegas. He enjoyed the freedom walking would bring. Chester would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and had the kindest heart. He rarely met a stranger. Chester will be missed by all that knew him.

Chester is preceded in death by the love of his life, wife, Ruth Pickens, parents, Jack and Minnie Pickens, brother in law, Philip Pike, and nephew Shanon Christopher.

He leaves behind sisters, Nadine Garwitz (Dennis), Mary Pike, brother, Arthur Quinn (Jodi), niece in law, Connie Christopher and many other family and friends that loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
