Cheryl Annette Mills, age 62 left this world for her forever home on March 26,2022 after a prolonged illness.

She was born April 14, 1959, to Johnnie Leeman Mills and Amanda Joyce Williams Mills, as their first born. She began their life of blessings and pleasure with their children.

Cheryl was always an animal lover. She rescued squirrels, birds, raccoons and would release them back into their environment. She loved horses and won many awards for barrel racing during high school. Homeless kittens were welcome to their new house with good food and veterinary care. She routinely donated to SPCA of Texas. She was generous with her gifts and loved her family.

Cheryl graduated with an associate degree in nursing from the Grayson County College. She worked as a dispatcher at Bonham Police Department while attending nursing school. She graduated in the top ten percent of her nursing class, as a Registered Nurse. She worked in many different types of nursing venues.

Cheryl married Tommy Allen Kretchmar on September 3, 1994. He preceded her in death May 21, 2018. She was of the of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by her mother Amanda Mills of Bonham, her dad Johnnie Leeman Mills Sr. and wife Joy of Dodd City, sister Beverly Owens and husband Bryan of Bonham and brother Leeman Mills and wife DeeDee of Dodd City. She leaves behind four nieces Amanda and Case Evans, Mackenzie and Zach Traylor, Marissa Mills, and Morgan Mills, two stepbrothers Joel and wife Stacey Wright, and Mark Wright, all of Colorado. Loved and supported by her lifetime family friend, Lorna Leslie. She also is survived by her four-legged companion, "Fancy" who is currently residing with Cheryl's Mom in Bonham. Graveside services will be at Dodd City Cemetery at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 29, 2022.  Pallbearers will be Teddy Fry, Zach Traylor, Bryan Owens, Gary Mills, Greg Sadler, and Roger Sadler. Brother Roy Burpo will officiate.
