Graveside Services for Cherlin Elizabeth Franklin, age 79, of Bonham, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Bro. Mark Posey will officiate. Cherlin passed away Tuesday evening, September 28, 2021, at Bonham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bonham, Texas.

Cherlin was born on February 3, 1942, in Bonham, Texas, the daughter of Leon King and Martha Stapp King. She graduated from Bailey High School. Cherlin worked at Seven Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the Laundry Department and also worked for the Bonham Cotton Mill. She married Jerry Wayne Franklin on June 11, 1966, in Oklahoma. They were married 44 years prior to his passing. Cherlin enjoyed watching tv and movies. She and Jerry liked traveling and dining out. Cherlin listened to Christian music and was an active member the Solid Rock First Pentecostal Church of God in Bonham. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Tammy Terese Franklin Barnes, brothers, Frank King, Joe King, Bobby King, and Benny King.

Cherlin is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Lea Champ and husband Dean of Sherman, Texas; brother, Ronnie King and wife Betty of Bonham, Texas; grandchildren, Hudson Michael Barnes, Jordan Champ, and Connor Champ; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
