Charles William Goin

Private burial services for Charles Goin, age 98 of Plano, will be held at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, TX, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Lisa Reece of the First Presbyterian Church in Bonham. Charles passed away on January 14, 2019. He was born December 2, 1920 in Bryan County (Caddo), Oklahoma to William Albert Goin & Inez Bigerstaff Goin.

He was raised in Bonham and married his childhood sweetheart, Elizabeth Doss, also of Bonham. He was a graduate of Bonham High School and the University of Texas. Charles was a World War II veteran who was awarded a Bronze Star and also served in the Korean War.  Charles and Elizabeth lived in many cities in the United States during his distinguished career with Mobil Oil Corporation. Most of his time at Mobil was spent in Sales/Marketing and Real Estate. He was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, William Albert Goin & Inez Bigerstaff Goin; father-in-law, Frank Doss and mother-in-law, Alberta Scroborough Doss.

Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Elizabeth Doss Goin; 3 children, Ann Goin Christenson and Jack of The Woodlands, Charles Robert Goin and wife Caron of Atlanta, GA and Nan Goin Dakin and husband Bill of Fairview; five grandchildren, Mike Goin, Scott Christenson, Jeff Goin, Chris Goin and Daniel Goin; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Goin Darden of Fort Worth.
