Charlene Stauber was born September 13, 1933, in Joy, Arkansas, to parents Thomas and Martha Smith. She graduated from Searcy High School in 1952. Arrangements are under the loving care of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Stauber; son, Patrick Stauber; granddaughter, baby Faith Stauber; mother, Martha Smith; father, Thomas Escar Smith; brother, Harold Smith and sister-in-laws Viven Smith and Emma Allen.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Johnson (Jonathan) and Charlotte Gladden (Dean); grandchildren Courtney Johnson (Ben Truong), Cailee Johnson, Cenzi Johnson, Sherrie Erickson (Jeff), Jesse Baker (Cristina), Jayden Stauber, Caleb Stauber, Landon Stauber and Vincent Garcia; great-grandchildren Sai Truong (who she proudly shared a birthday with), Brandon Marsh (Sarah), Brandon Erickson (Gabby), Dylan Erickson, Joshua Baker, and Justin Baker; great-great-grandchildren Lainey Erickson and baby Dean Marsh; and her special niece, Kay Lawson (Freddy). She is also survived by many beloved family members and friends in Arkansas and Texas.
Charlene married Pat Stauber on November 15, 1965, in Searcy, Arkansas. They shared 41 years of marriage and raised three children, building a life filled with love and laughter. While her greatest joy was caring for her family as a homemaker, she also worked for several businesses, including Birds Eye Foods and Byrd Haven Nursing Home.
Charlene attended First Assembly of God Church in Searcy for many years and found comfort in her faith. She enjoyed gardening, attending her children's and grandchildren's activities, and spending time talking and laughing with family and friends.
Charlene lived a life of faith, loving Jesus and caring for others with a selfless heart. She will be deeply missed. The funeral service to honor Charlene's life is Saturday, June 20, 2026 in the Chapel of Wise Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1hr prior to service. Burial will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 1pm @ Fosters Chapel Cemetery, Searcy, Arkansas.
