Charla Elise Woodson

Funeral services for Charla Elise Kirby Woodson, 66, of Whitewright, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2022 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel.  Pastor Mark Posey will officiate.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 28, 2022 at Winfield Cemetery in Winfield, Texas.

Charla was born July 14, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, the daughter of Robert Harold Kirby and Gladys Hall Kirby.  She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and received her LVN degree from Kilgore College.  Charla's nursing career spanned 35 years with the last 13 years spent as school nurse for the Trenton ISD.  She retired in 2013. Charla married David Woodson on January 31, 1993.    She was a dedicated quilter and could work 10 hours a day quilting and watching TV.  She loved to watch cooking shows and was an excellent cook.  Another of her passions was fishing, and she could easily spend all day on a pool bank.  Charla was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Donnie Rex Edwards.

Charla leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 29 years, David Woodson of Whitewright, TX; two sons, Kurt Edwards and his wife, Angela of Ravenna, TX and Justin Woodson and his wife, Angela of Anna, TX; three daughters, Cristy Orr and her husband, Chris of Mt. Vernon, TX, Casey Peebles and her husband, Nathan of Bonham, TX and Holly Hecht of Charlotte, North Carolina; a brother, Edward Kirby; two sisters, Teena Forrister and Taffy Kirby; 13 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Orr, Taylor Weems, Nathan Peebles, Justin Woodson, Kurt Edwards and Jeffery Kirby.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until service time Saturday, March 26, 2022.
