Funeral Services for Celia Carole Bridges Weeks will be held on November 4, 2015 at 3:30 P.M. at Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be longtime friend and former pastor of the Lannius Church of God, Rev. Roy Burpo. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Lannius. Celia passed away early morning, November 1, 2015 at her residence.

Celia Carole Bridges Weeks was born in Kaufman, Texas, on October 19, 1960. Growing up in Kemp, Texas, she excelled in multiple sports and was awarded a sports scholarship to play basketball at Ranger Junior College. After three semesters there, she transferred to East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas, where she played volleyball for one season as a member of the Lady Lions Team. While there she met her husband, Nick Weeks, whom she married on August 15, 1981.

In 1983, Celia graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and began her coaching/teaching career that would span twenty-nine years. Her first two years were at Roxton ISD and the last twenty-seven years were at Dodd City ISD where she coached a very successful volleyball team and taught a variety of subjects.
On April 1, 1984, Nick and Celia welcomed their first child Joey into the family and later on October 12, 1986, the second son Justin joined the group. If there was anyone Celia loved more than Nick, it was Joey and Justin. When grandsons Radney, Raiden, Ramsey, Henry and Grady came along, Celia adored them more than anything and cherished every moment that she got to spend with them.

Celia loved hunting, fishing, gardening and other outdoor activities. She always looked forward to ski season and traveling to beautiful beaches in Florida. Nick and Celia traveled multiple times to Europe when Justin was in the military in Germany. During one excursion, they returned to Gnarrenburg, Germany, where Celia's great grandparents and grandmother had immigrated from in the mid-1800's.

Celia was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Horace and Charlene Williamson; father-in-law, Don Richard Weeks and mother-in-law, JoAnn Thomas; and a special cousin who died in Viet Nam, Douglas Dupree.

Celia is survived by husband Nick; son Joey and wife Danielle of Dodd City; son Justin and wife Jessica of Pensacola, Florida; grandsons Radney, Raiden, Henry, Grady and Ramsey; parents G.C. and Linda Bridges of Dodd City, Texas; Shannon Krakosky and husband Mark of Sachse, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, former students and colleagues.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Crow, Chad Knight, John Burpo, Daniel Garcia, Alan Dickson, Landon Darwin, Connor Reed, and Jaylen Wallace. Karen Garcia and Mary Jo Nees will be honorary pallbearers.

Celia went through many trials in this life, but she never lost her faith. Her strength was in her Lord and Savior on whom she relied each day.

The Family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday night, November 3, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
