CATALINA C. STEPHENS
Funeral services for Catalina Crisostoma Stephens, 86, of Bonham, will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Seventh & Main Baptist Church in Bonham under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Cody Nelson will officiate. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Catalina passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 in Denison, Texas

Catalina was born March 8, 1928 in Inarajan, Guam, the daughter of Jose San Nicholas and Serefena San Nicholas. She married Ed Ray Stephens on January 25, 1941 in Inarajan, Guam. He preceded her in death July 5, 1994. Catalina was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Bonham. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters. In addition to raising her own family, she worked for First Baptist Church in Bonham and was a mother and caregiver to those she knew. She was a survivor and POW of WWII during the Japanese occupation of Guam. She was very brave working as an interpreter during this time. She was 12 years old when occupied and 17 years old when liberated in 1944.
