Cassandra Drachenberg, who was born on July 29, 1956, in Mineral Wells, Texas, and passed away on July 22, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, lived a life marked by faith, devotion, kindness, and quiet strength. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.

She was a woman whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. Cassandra was known for her funny spirit, her loving heart, and the deep faith that guided the way she lived each day. She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of the Baptist faith, and her beliefs were not simply words to her, but the foundation of a life spent in service to others. Ector Baptist church will always hold a special place in her heart.

Cassandra graduated from McArthur High School in Irving, Texas, in 1974, and later continued her education by graduating from Rasmussen College in 2014. She valued learning throughout her life and carried that appreciation into both her work and her personal interests. She had a natural curiosity and a thoughtful mind, and she especially enjoyed computer programming, which reflected both her intelligence and her willingness to embrace new challenges.

In her professional life, Cassandra worked for TMC in Denison, where she played a huge role in the medical records department. Her work was important, and she carried it out with diligence, care, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Cassandra also found great joy in teaching and in fellowship. She loved teaching Sunday School at Ector Baptist Church to the Senior Ladies, where her warmth, patience, and faith were shared generously with others. Her beautiful singing voice was a blessing to those who heard it, and her love for worship reflected the sincerity of her devotion. She was a devout believer, and her life was a testimony to the grace and compassion that she carried in her heart.

Family was central to Cassandra’s life. She was a loving mother to Bethany and a cherished Nana to Cynthia. These roles brought her deep pride and happiness, and she treasured the relationships she built with those she loved. Her family will remember her not only for the care she gave, but also for the laughter she inspired and the steady encouragement she offered. Her family describes her as a woman who believed in the goodness of people to the very end.

Cassandra also enjoyed the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She loved reading, which gave her both enjoyment and reflection, and she took delight in cross stitch, a pastime that reflected her patience and creativity. In all that she did, she brought thoughtfulness and care, whether she was working, learning, teaching, or spending time with those she loved.

She is preceded in death by parents, and husband of 30 years Jerry Drachenberg. Those left to cherish her memory, daughter, Bethany Hager and husband Karsten, Forever Partner, Marilyn Pierce, brothers, John Whitehead Jr., Ted Whitehead and wife Angie, granddaughter, Cynthia Hager, great-grandson, Michael Diaz, and nephew, Tanner Whitehead. 

A public viewing is Friday, July 31, 2026 from 6pm to 8pm at Wise Funeral Home. The burial will be a private family event.
