Carroll "C.Q." Quentin Spiller

February 10, 1941 — September 20, 2025

Bonham

Carroll Quentin Spiller, 84, of Bonham passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025. Services will be held at Wise Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25, at 12:00 pm. Visitation takes place from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, September 24 at Wise Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery.

C.Q. was the second of seven children, born on February 10, 1941 to Joseph Quentin and Velva Pauline Spiller in Dodd City, Texas. He attended Dodd City schools, graduating in 1959. He volunteered for the US Army and became a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. When he returned from the Army, he met Linda Kay Priddy. They married on June 4, 1966 at Clark Memorial Methodist Church. Their union lasted 59 years, 3 months, and 16 days.

C.Q. worked on the Union Pacific Railroad for 29 years. He became a knife maker and a master engraver, and enjoyed working on his '57 Corvette. He loved maintaining his place north of Bonham, which gave wonderful memories to three generations of Spiller children.

He joined Trinity Baptist Church to give his children a firm grounding in the Christian faith. After the children were grown, he and Linda attended First United Methodist Church. As the decades passed, C.Q.'s devotion to Christ grew deeper. In his latter years, he took solace in the fact that his entire family knew and loved the Lord.

C.Q. is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Velva Delight Reisanuer and Pamela Jean Justice; and his brother, James Michael Spiller.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Spiller; his siblings Joan Adeline Knight, Doss Randall Spiller (Dorothy), and Danny Lynn Spiller; his daughter Shannon Lynn Craft (Clint) of Lake Dallas; and his sons Jeffrey Quentin Spiller (Jonna) of Gober, and John Clifton Spiller of Bonham. His grandchildren are Ryan, Kyle (Ali), and Ty (Shanelle) Craft and Nik (Rachel), Jake, and Luke Spiller. His great-grandchildren are Wes, Kai, Ben, and Leo Craft. He is survived by generations of loving nieces and nephews.
