Carroll Wayne Jones

Carroll Wayne Jones, age 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was born July 26, 1935, in Ector, Texas, to Iowa and Naomi Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hoyt Jones and John Jones.

Carroll married Chloe Ann Mankin in her home town of Tyler, Texas in 1956. His early education was at Commerce College where he was Vice President of the student body. He was also awarded the Texas Lone Star Farmers Degree from the Future Farmers of America. He received his Masters Degree in Education from East Texas State University. After one year of teaching, Mr. Jones switched paths and spent the next 40 years with the J.C. Penney Company, ending his career as the Manager of Geographic Markets.

After retiring from the retail industry, Carroll returned to his passion where he and Chloe have raised Angus Cattle in Ector for the last 21 years. He was an active member of the First Methodist Church in Bonham, was Director of the Fannin Soil and Water Conservation District, and a Master Mason in the Grand Lodge of Texas. He and Chloe had a wonderful marriage of 62 years and Carroll is survived by his wife; four children: Mark Jones, Cindy Sinclair, David Jones, and Joani Lee, along with all spouses; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Bonham, Texas with a 10:00am viewing and an 11:00am service.
