Carrie Anne Newsome

September 25, 1941 — June 28, 2024

Bonham

Carrie Anne Perry Newsome, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024. She had been under hospice care at a family member's home in Melissa, TX and had the opportunity to visit with many loved ones during her most recent illnesses.

Carrie Anne was pre-deceased by the "Love of her Life", James Prichard Newsome. Together, she and James raised four children: Ed (wife Teri) Newsome of Melissa, TX; Judy (husband Melvon) Lilly of Howe, TX; Peggy (husband J.D.) Elledge of Highland Village, TX; and Mary (husband Jerry) Madewell of Paris, TX. Carrie Anne is survived by her children and a host of grandchildren and great- grandchildren; her dear sister, Ruth Miller (and Ruth's extensive family) of Ahoskie, NC; and numerous other beloved family members. Oh, and her grand-dog, Pongo.

Carrie Anne is preceded in death by her beloved James; her parents; and her brothers, Roger and Donald. She was Blessed with a lifetime of friends who made her world a very happy place. Some of those friends have already passed and are meeting her again in Heaven. But many others now share the sadness of her loss, as well as the delight in having known Carrie Anne.

Carrie Anne loved The Lord and lived a Faith-Filled life. She was a generous person who served faithfully at a local food pantry. Carrie Anne was greatly happy when she cooked for family and friends. Family and friends were even happier when she cooked! These experiences were special times for all. Randy Miller, Carrie Anne's nephew from Ahoskie, will officiate her service on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 2pm at The First United Methodist Church in Trenton. Burial will follow at the Blue Ridge Cemetery.

Finally, our family wants to express our deepest gratitude to the wonderful people of Reliant At Home Hospice Care. You are truly Angels among us.
