Carolyn was born May 19, 1947 in Bonham, Texas, the daughter of Udell Brown and Zona Margel Kunkel Brown. She was a 1965 graduate of Bonham High School. Carolyn was in the Bonham High School band all four years of high school. While in the band, she was a majorette all four years and head majorette her sophomore, junior and senior years. She competed in UIL twirling and Solo & Ensemble competitions. Carolyn participated in FHA, Pep Club, Los Conquistadores, Spanish Club, Horizon Club and Tumbling Team. She was initiated into the National Honor Society and named as president her senior year. She was also on the Coushatta staff and served as Senior Assistant. Following graduation, she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and was nominated for 10 Most Beautiful at UT. Carolyn was a stewardess with American Airlines for a number of years and traveled the world extensively. She later worked as a real estate agent in Austin. Her friendly, outgoing personality served her well in each of these professions. One of Carolyn's most valuable assets was her ability to make friends, who were treasured always. Whether she was working, traveling, or taking one of her many chemo treatments, Carolyn was tendering friendships that would last a lifetime. She cherished each one and visited with them by phone, text or email regularly. Carolyn enjoyed playing bridge, entertaining, and she had a flare for setting showstopping tablescapes. She loved all things glitzy, whether it was in her sparkling jewelry or her glimmering household furnishings. Her most prized possessions, however, were her beloved friends. Over the years, Carolyn had a number of Yorkies and loved each fur baby dearly. She was a member of First Christian Church in Bonham.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Udell and Zona Brown and her brother, Michael Wayland Brown.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories, a cousin, Judy Brown Elliott and family of Dallas, Texas, two very special caregivers, and friends too numerous to name.
