Carolyn Evelyn Bolt passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Pilot Point Care Center.
She was born on December 11, 1933, the daughter of Frederick Bates and Gladys Eliza Corpe Bates. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson, Indiana. Her faith shined brightly, one of her favorite sayings was, "Well, praise the Lord!" On June 3, 1955, Carolyn married Gordon Edwin Bolt in Providence, Rhode Island. She earned her Masters Degree and taught for many years. Carolyn loved books, this was very apparent by her massive collection and her expert book lovers advice she gave, "Got a problem, read a book." Quilting, knitting, and sewing were some of Carolyn's favorite pastimes. One of her most recognizing features was her infectious laugh; she dearly loved to laugh. Carolyn will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon Edwin Bolt; Brothers, Lester, Frank, and Robert Bates; Sisters, Elizabeth Ross and Barbara Crist; Grandchildren, Bethany, Bryce, and Tyler; and Brother-In-Law, Howard Crist.
Carolyn is survived by her Children, Barbara Bolt of Blue Ridge, Texas, John Bolt and wife Elizabeth of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jane Betteridge and husband Keith of Oakville, Indiana, and Rebecca Smith and husband Clay of Lewisville, Texas, 12 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews, Bonnie Ausfeld and husband James of Scotia, New York, Paul Crist and his wife Luann of Redhill, Pennsylvania, Ruth Martin and husband Jeff of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, Stephen Crist and wife Sharon of Beacon, New York, and Suzanne Harmon and husband Jeff of Columbia, South Carolina; extended family, friends, and her favorite little brown bear, Timothy Devore of Orrville, Ohio.
Memorial Services for Carolyn Evelyn Bolt, age 83, of Pilot Point, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Wise Funeral Home, 219 West Sam Rayburn Drive, Bonham, Texas. Dr. James Adams will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Arledge Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 an hour prior to service time.
