He was born September 25, 1927 in Lamasco, Texas to Samuel Hamilton Sanford & Martha Dee Starnes Sanford.
Bob Sanford was blessed to live to a ripe "old " age of 91. He was born in Lamasco, Texas on September 25, 1927. Bob grew up in the Fannin County area. He joined the U S Army in 1951 and was deployed to Korea where he was assigned as a communications advisor for the Korean Army. After his Honorable discharge he returned home to marry Mavis Walker, and started his family raising 3 children, Sherri, Chris and Brad in Bowie, TX. He eventually started a career as a lineman for Brazos Electric and worked for them until 1969. Eventually Bob resigned from Brazos Electric and pursued his other passion of farming and ranching back in his hometown of Mulberry. This was a full time venture for several years until some of his former lineman friends started requesting his help with different jobs. They were needing qualified line worker and they finally managed to lure him back into the business. During these times his sons both Chris and Brad and their dear friend Rodney were showing an interest in becoming lineman as well. Bob was proud to teach them everything he knew and most of all safety. Bob walked and talked this profession and trained many young men to follow in his footsteps. Bob then retired and returned full time to his farming and ranching operation, while assisting his wife Mavis with the operation of their restaurant business of the Red River Fishing Hole. Bob later remarried Betty Hall, his childhood sweetheart in 1999. The two of them continued the farming and ranching operation together into their golden years.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Hamilton Sanford & Martha Starnes Sanford; brothers, Bill Sanford and Clark Sanford; mother of his children, Mavis Sanford.
