Billy Jack Houston was born April 7, 1932 in Honey Grove Texas. He went home to meet his Lord Jesus on February 12, 2022.
Billy Jack was a graduate from Sul Ross State University in Alpine Texas.
He received a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Masters in Educational Administration.
His teaching career began in Odessa,Texas. He moved to Bonham in the summer of 1962 and has been a proud resident ever since.
He became a Principal at Stephenson Kindergarten in 1970 Until 1986.
He moved to be a Principal at I.W. Evans in 1987 and stayed there until he retired in 1989.
After retirement he went back again as a Park Ranger at Mt Rainier.
In 1949 he met the love of his life, Thelma Louise Henley, whom he married on May 10, 1951.
Immediately after they got married, he went to the front lines of Korea.
After he left the military Billy Jack enjoyed fishing and watching football. He enjoyed a lifetime of traveling across the country and especially enjoyed recounting his travels to family and wonderful friends.
He loved sharing his stories and relished his mornings socializing with friends at the hospital cafeteria and Braum's.
Above all other pursuits in life, Billy Jack held his family highest and foremost.
Kindhearted, considerate, and helpful to all, he was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather to the end.
Billy Jack is survived by his wife, Thelma, and daughters, Janna Houston of Colorado,Jackie Houston of Las Vegas, and a son Mark Houston from Alpine Texas.
Grandchildren Kelly Adams of Colorado, Mindy Gillespie of Kansas,Zeke Houston of Oklahoma.

First Baptist Church Pastor Ken Ussery will preside over the celebration of life, to be held at First Baptist Church of Bonham on Thursday, February 17th at 1:00 p.m. Family lunch will be at 11:30am.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Adams,Dylan Allen,Jerry Harper,Bob Kelly,Don Manhart,Bob McCraw,John Simpson,Junior Wilkerson
His friends and family will remember Billy Jack's perpetual humor and love of a good story and pinching a penny until it squeals!
