Funeral services for Billy Joe Eaton, 84, of Dodd City, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 2, 2012 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Richard Leathers and Rev. Ricky Granstaff will officiate. Burial will follow in Dodd City Cemetery. Billy passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham.
Billy was born Sept. 20, 1927 in Ector, Texas, the son of George H. Eaton and Cordelia Tidwell Eaton. He was a graduate of Bonham High School and a US Army/Air Force veteran of WWII. He married Tommie Lee Grisham in Dodd City. Billy was ordained as a Deacon at Ravenna Baptist Church on April 23, 1967. He was later a member of Dodd City Baptist Church and past president of the Dodd City Lions Club. He enjoyed wood working. Billy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hubert Eaton.
Surviving are his wife, Tommie Lee Eaton of Dodd City, TX, Sons, David Eaton and Ken Eaton, both of Ravenna, TX,Sister, Eva Nell Pierce of Bonham, TX, and Nephew, Craig Eaton of Amarillo, TX
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until service time, Saturday morning.
