Memorial services for Mr. Billy Ray Dewoody, age 79, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday; July 14, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Bonham. Rev. Morgan Malone and Rev. Kevin Towery will officiate. Private family graveside will follow at Arledge Ridge Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home in Bonham. Mr. Dewoody passed away on July 11, 2015 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Billy Ray was born on January 23, 1936 in Fannin County, the son of Roy Dewoody and Vera Nichols Dewoody. He was a graduate of Bonham High School in 1956 and married Barbara Ann Fogle on August 31, 1957 at Corinth Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in National Guard for 8 years then active from 1961-1962 as Spec 4 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge Constatine Lodge #13 serving as Worshipful Master and 32nd Degree and recently became a 50 year member. He was a Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Bonham and was a member of the VIP Sunday School Class and enjoyed serving hot dogs to children during VBS along with the deacons and wives during the Widows Game Day. Billy Ray worked at McCraw Oil, General Cable, Gammon Tool & Die, Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center and retired from the Bonham Post Office. He enjoyed deer hunting and caring for stray animals (most recently a fox) and enjoyed his visits with his Coffee Group at Brookshire's and taking care of the family dog Molly! He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Ruiz and Margaret Smith.

He is survived by:
Wife: Barbara Dewoody of Bonham
Son: Scott Dewoody of Bonham
Daughters: Sharon and her husband Kevin of Honey Grove
Saundy Dennis of Melissa
Sister: Jean and her husband Ronald Whitehead of Corsicana
Grandchildren: J.T., Lane, Levi, Delacy, Tristan, Avery, Allie and Wade

Mr. Dewoody will lie in state at Wise Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday and until service time on Tuesday.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church and his coffee friends.

The family will receive visitors at 1:00 P.M. till service time.
