Billie Lee Murphy

Billie Lee Murphy passed away at TMC in Bonham at the age of 77. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.

Billie was born on February 19, 1947 in Wylie, TX to the late Opal and Juanita Murphy. He came from a family of 12 children. Billie retired from the City of Richardson, as a Street Superintendent. Billie and wife Linda settled in Bonham after his retirement. In his youth he proudly joined the United States Army and served his country. His wish is to be laid to rest at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery with military honors.

Billie will be fondly remembered for his love of cars, casinos, building, hunting, motorcycles, and horseback riding. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. Please consider making a donation in Billie's honor to the American Heart Association.

Billie is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers.

He is survived by, wife, Linda Murphy, son, Glen Murphy (Margie), daughters, Lisa Howell (Tim), Erica Murphy, Sherry Fleming (William), Kim Johnson (Don), 4 sisters, 4 brothers, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on December 21, 2024 at 11:00 @ Messiah Lutheran Church, 1801 W. Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75075. Burial at DFW National Cemetery will be January 24, 2025 at 11:15am.
