Bill Turnage

Funeral services for Mr. Bill Turnage, age 75, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Living Word Church of God 699 E US-82, Bonham, TX with Pastor Eddy Prince officiating.  Burial will follow in the Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home.  Bill passed away on January 28, 2020 at his residence in Bonham, Texas.

Bill was born on December 16, 1944 in Idabel, Oklahoma, the only child of the late Loyd James Turnage and Marjorie Lee Stanfield Turnage.  He was a graduate of Valliant High School and married Phyllis Cooper on December 15, 1962 in Valliant, Oklahoma.  Bill was a businessman, and spent his entire career with one company, working his way up from a salesman to President and Chairman of the Board for V.P.G. in Bonham.  A career built over 42 years.  After his retirement in 2006, he enjoyed spending time taking care of his daughter's farm and tending to all of the animals.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis Turnage of the home and his daughter Carol Turnage of Anna, Texas and extended family and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be John Burnett, Richard Glaser, Jesse Hernandez, Rudy Lira, Tom Turner, and Joe Ward.  Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Dyson, Tony Martinez, Kevin Peterson, and Bill Spencer.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home 219 W. Sam Rayburn Dr. Bonham, Texas from 6:00-7:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2020.
